Urban Agriculture Australia Pty Ltd (“Ripe”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, store, and otherwise process personal information in connection with the Ripe Recipes mobile application (the “App”), the website located at https://tryripe.co (the “Website”), and any related services, features, content, or applications offered by us (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, or otherwise interacting with Ripe, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection, use, disclosure, and handling of your information as described herein. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the Services.

This Privacy Policy is intended to comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), as well as widely accepted international privacy practices applicable to digital platforms and mobile applications.

In the course of providing the Services, we may collect and process various categories of personal information and related data about users.

2.1 Account and Identity Information

When you create or maintain an account with Ripe Recipes, we may collect personal information necessary to establish and administer your account. This information may include your name, email address, telephone number, and account credentials such as passwords. Passwords are encrypted and stored using appropriate security measures. Where users elect to authenticate through third-party identity providers, such as Apple or Google, we may receive limited account profile information made available by those services in accordance with their respective privacy settings and permissions.

2.2 Food, Recipe, and Cooking Information

In order to provide personalized recipe recommendations, meal planning tools, and ingredient management functionality, the Services may collect and store certain information that users voluntarily provide in relation to their cooking activities. Such information may include ingredients entered by the user, grocery lists, saved or bookmarked recipes, cooking preferences, dietary restrictions, meal planning data, meal history, and photographs of food uploaded by the user. This information is used solely to enable the features of the Services and to improve the relevance and usefulness of recipe recommendations and related functionality.

2.3 Technical, Device, and Usage Information

When users access or interact with the Services, we may automatically collect certain technical information relating to the device and software environment through which the Services are accessed. This may include information such as device model, operating system and version, IP address, application version, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, diagnostic information, crash reports, and other similar technical data. This information assists us in maintaining the functionality, security, and performance of the Services and allows us to monitor system integrity and troubleshoot technical issues.

2.4 Location Information

The Services may collect or infer general location information in order to provide geographically relevant functionality, including regional recipe suggestions, location-specific ingredients, and nearby grocery store information. Users may disable location permissions at any time through the settings on their mobile device.

2.5 Analytics and Product Improvement Information

We may collect information regarding user interactions with the Services in order to understand how users engage with the platform and to improve its design, functionality, and performance. Analytics information may include usage patterns, session duration, feature interactions, and navigation behavior. For these purposes we may utilize analytics tools provided by third parties such as Google, including Firebase and Google Analytics.

2.6 Advertising and Marketing Information

The Services may collect certain advertising identifiers and engagement data in order to support marketing activities and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Such data may include advertising identifiers associated with a user’s device, information regarding advertisement impressions and interactions, attribution data relating to application installations, and information used for remarketing or retargeting campaigns. Advertising technologies used in connection with the Services may include tools provided by Meta Platforms and Google.

3. Purposes for Which Information Is Used

The personal information collected through the Services is used for a range of legitimate business and operational purposes. These purposes include, but are not limited to, providing and maintaining the Services, enabling recipe generation and meal recommendations, storing user preferences and ingredient data, personalizing user experiences, processing subscription payments, improving product functionality, analyzing usage trends, preventing fraud or misuse of the Services, communicating with users regarding updates or service announcements, and delivering marketing communications and promotional materials where permitted by applicable law.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Recipe Generation

The Services incorporate artificial intelligence technologies in order to generate recipe suggestions and cooking guidance based on information provided by users, including ingredients, dietary preferences, and other cooking-related inputs. In order to generate these outputs, certain user inputs may be processed by artificial intelligence service providers such as OpenAI. Ripe Recipes does not store conversational interaction history with AI systems beyond what is reasonably necessary to generate and deliver the requested recipe results.

5. Payments and Subscription Services

Certain features of the Services may be offered on a subscription basis or through paid premium features. Payment transactions may be processed through trusted third-party payment processors, including Stripe and mobile application marketplace providers. Ripe Recipes does not store full payment card numbers or other sensitive financial credentials on its own systems. Payment processing providers are responsible for handling payment information in accordance with their own security and privacy policies.

6. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

In the course of operating the Services, we may disclose personal information to third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf. These service providers may include infrastructure and cloud hosting providers such as Google Firebase, analytics providers including Google Analytics, artificial intelligence service providers including OpenAI, payment processors including Stripe, and advertising partners including Meta Platforms and Google. These entities may have access to personal information only to the extent necessary to perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect such information.

We may also disclose information where required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our rights, protect the safety of users or the public, investigate fraud, or comply with applicable legal obligations.

Ripe Recipes does not sell personal information to third parties.

7. Storage, Security, and International Transfers of Information

Personal information collected through the Services is stored on secure infrastructure operated by trusted cloud service providers. Data may be stored on servers operated by providers such as Google Cloud or Firebase, which may be located in Australia, the United States, or other jurisdictions in which such service providers maintain facilities.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Such safeguards may include encryption, authentication controls, secure infrastructure, monitoring systems, and internal access restrictions. Nevertheless, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. In general, personal information associated with an account will be retained for the duration of the user’s account. If an account remains inactive for a prolonged period, we may delete the account and associated personal data after five (5) years of inactivity. Aggregated or anonymized analytics data that cannot reasonably be linked to an identifiable individual may be retained indefinitely for research and product improvement purposes.

9. User Rights and Choices

Users have certain rights in relation to their personal information, subject to applicable law. These rights may include the ability to access and update personal information, request deletion of an account and associated data, and withdraw consent to receive marketing communications. The Services are intended for a general audience and are not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 13. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information as soon as practicable.

The Website located at tryripe.co may utilize cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies in order to analyze website usage, measure advertising performance, and enhance the user experience. These technologies may include analytics tools provided by Google and marketing technologies such as the pixel provided by Meta Platforms. Users may manage or disable cookies through their web browser settings.

From time to time, we may send users communications relating to product updates, new features, recipe newsletters, promotional offers, and other marketing content. Users may opt out of receiving marketing emails by using the unsubscribe mechanism included within such communications. Push notifications may also be managed or disabled through device settings.
